CPU fan for FX-8320

I have had an FX-8320 for a couple of years now and I absolutely love it. Although the problem has been for all this time, the stock AMD CPU fan (sounds like a jet engine). I have finally got the time to upgrade and was just wondering what budget aftermarket fan people would recommend?

I know a large amount will say the CM Hyper 212 EVO will be the best but I have some doubts on whether it will fit in my case(NZXT Source 210 Elite has 160mm clearance, the 212 is 159mm) some say it fits, others don't have as much luck; not sure if it is worth taking that risk. I was wondering if there were any other suggestions in a similar price range that perform just as well that I will have a much greater chance at fitting in my case)?

P.S - other fans I have looked at are the BeQuiet Pure Rock both the normal and the slim version (Couldn't find a huge amount of documentation on performance vs the CM though). I also looked at the Cryorig H7 but it is not obtainable in the UK.

Thanks, and sorry for the long post :D

I have the m9a and it allows me to OC my Fx 6300 to 4.4ghz without any issues. It is a $20 cooler which is smaller and easy to install.

Not to nit pick, but to clarify, you want to replace your cpu cooler, both heatsink and fan.

You can easily find reviews for most coolers online, but make sure the website is reliable. Most testing includes a healthy margin of error, because heat dissipation, airflow and noise are directly connected and sensitive to outside influences. It's very likely for some to draw very different conclusions for the same cooler, as quiet and cool are difficult to achieve at the same time. So the result depends whether you prefer a quiet or cool solution.

I recommend you check what is available at your chosen price and check reviews online.
