Ryzen 5 1600 vs i7-7700 (non-k)

So I was thinking of buying a new Ryzen 5 1600 for around 250€, but I found a guy selling a i7-7700 for 200€.

I will mostly use this PC for gaming/media, and occasionally for running a development virtual machine. I only play Blizzard games, so they are no usually that intensive or have the best gfx.

I like AMD but I am not a fanboy, I am best bang for buck guy, so cheaper is always good on my book.

Right now I have 2 setups in mind all new Ryzen/MB/DDR4(3000mhz) for €520 vs the intel used (bought in February ) 7700/MB/DDR4(2400) for €400

Is the new Ryzen setup worth the extra €120?

Well I'd say it depends on when you want to upgrade after this purchase. If you have a slightly longer timeline in mind, definitely go with Ryzen. Also you'll be able to squeeze out pretty nice performance boosts with a moderate overclock, while the i7 is locked and comes with a way worse cooler if you're going the stock route.

So yes but it depends.

I am running a Phenom II X4 right, so yeah I don't upgrade that often. If OC is an option I will probably do it, but it's not something I look that much into it because my pc room is usually very hot from March till October so the temps are always very high

I'd say the i7 7700 is the better bang for buck for that price. They'd have to be the same price to consider ryzen 1600 imo.

I have been looking for ryzen 5 deals, but they are pretty much the same price everywhere in Europe

7700 will run Blizzard games better, and since you are saving €120 it's hard to justify Ryzen cost wise.

for 200 cant go wrong with the 7700 but you probably will benefit from having 6c/12t for your workload but overall 200€ is really a good price

I7 7700k beats the ryzen in games and since you can get it for less you should go that way
