I do. That's why I moved countries twice and learned a new language. Meeting new people from all over the world changed me completely as a person.
Cool, I'm trying to do the same, but were did you go? What languages do you speak?
Several countries in South East Asia, then Australia. Come to think of it, I've moved 3 times not just twice, haha. And English is my second language. I learned it as a young adult. Now I am in my late twenties. It's been a long journey! :D
English is my second language too. I'm trying tô learn 2 more till the end of this year.
Yeah, I guess I do. I am a bit shy and I typically spend a long time feeling comfortable enough to be myself, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy making new acquaintances.
Boom you just described me to a T.
also whats your favorite pizza? (yes i read your flair)
My favorite pizza needs pepperoni. Pepperoni is the best.
How about you?
Plain ol Margherita
Ah, a classic.
I love meeting new people. Some of the best experiences I've had have come from people I'd just met
Same! shame i'm too shy to approach others though (i don't mean literally approaching random ppl in the streets but people in like similar groups and etc)
I consider myself a shy person too, but I like meeting new people. I've met some interesting people through my hobbies, and some of them have become close friends. I haven't met anyone new in a while now though.
Yeah i feel you there, opposite here went trough a period i didn't mean anyone new,but now i'm meeting quite a few new people
That's cool. How did you meet some of them if I may ask?
Trough a religious organization for the Youth, people are surprisingly open minded though so i'm happy .
What're your hobbies?
I blog, play video games (though not as much as I used to), play guitar, watch movies and TV shows, read comics. What about you?
Everything you mentioned but blogging and playing guitar. I used to play but once I figured out I couldn't write my own music and could only read tablature I stopped. I've made a bunch of friends gaming though and talking to strangers actually got me invited to one of my favorite gaming studios and E3.
Same. I've met some close friends through fighting games and joining tournaments. I wish I could go to E3 someday, or any major comic book conventions in the US.
I used to play but once I figured out I couldn't write my own music and could only read tablature I stopped
I tried making my own music but was never satisfied with them so I just stopped. I kind of accepted that I have no talent for it whatsoever. But I still play when I have the time or feel like it. I enjoy it even if it's just doing covers.
Definitely. That's why I come on here for the most part. I'm an introvert, but not at all shy, and no social anxiety, so when I'm ready for people-time, I just go for it.
Same on the come here part, even though i always feel like i annoy people here with my blabbering (got social anxiety here)
That's the anxiety lying to you.
Sometimes yes it's that, but i just can't shake off the feeling ya know?
You just need to push through it.
Yeah! I'm going on a mini road trip vacation by myself in a couple weeks and I'm putting myself into brewery tours and hiking meetups so that I can meet other people :)
That's so fricking wholesome
too pure for this world
I'm glad someone else thinks it's cool! Everyone I mention it to just asks "aren't you scared to go alone?" I guess because I'm a girl? I dunno, I'm frickin excited though
it's understandable ppl will be worried, they care for ya :)! cause it seems you're a nice person
aw thanks :) you are too!
Describes me to the T. Love making friends but I have trouble being outgoing
It sucks doesn't it :(. i like try my best to start conversations (cause some ppl may be shy too or etc) but i can't keep it going cause anxiety and etc
Exactly! I always feel like small talk is so forced and terrible for making new friends
i depend on small talk alot tbh, but if it was up to me i'd talk about the most random shit
What's on your mind?! I'm always down for a conversation about random shit.
Not particularly no. Probably why I have very few friends and no significant other.
I love meeting new people and making new friends. It makes me so happy to connect with someone. Except I usually don't talk to someone else first, but approach me and I'll engage easily.
You're exactly my the type of person dude/miss
also not fitting flair ?
Nah, I just love self-depreciating humor, haha
Ah cool, it's nice to be able to laugh at the bad stuff too
I love meeting new people, especially those from other cultures. I have some great friends online from other parts of my country (I’m Brazilian) and some around the globe. But, being the way I am, make friends and meet people it’s the best thing to do.
Depends on the context.
i'l give you two situations
On reddit.
or
Irl when you're like doing a hobby of yours
Every time I meet someone on Reddit I'm disappointed. Like one time I mailed my extra copy of LoZ Windwaker to this guy who said he'd never played a Zelda game. The kid then kept messaging me wierd shit on fb and then I found out that he was just a random fucking kid who PM'd me and not even the original person who asked. Fuck that kid.
Anyway yeah meeting people at a party and bonding over a hobby, or joining a group related to my hobby is dope tho.
Sorry to hear you had bad experiences, its kinda excepted sometimes with the anonymity.
Depends on the mood. But not a lot are considered to be friends though...at first, they would be just acquaintance. Then if we do share a lot of time together, then we can be friends.
I've always kept to myself since I was a young age always felt like my socialising and communication skills are weak. Working in a job where you interact with a lot of people on a daily basis has certainly helped and I have been trying better to interact more with people in real life and online, however I feel like I have a long way to go.
I do too, which is weird because I am actually very too-myself all the time. It's more that I am interested in people, I think.
Escuse me but what do you mean by very too-myself?
I'm shy, and even more than that, I just like to be by my lonesome really.
Ah, i personally don't like being alone too much cause i end up with bad thoughts and that shit
also agreed w/ your flair
