[QUESTION] A treble booster for my Vox AC30
So I recently bought an AC30 in december and I'm looking to buy a great treble booster for a more rock sound like the one of Rory Gallagher or Blackmore. I'm not really looking for the Brian May sound(not that anyone can really replicate it), i want it to be a bit dirtier.
I'm thinking of getting the Naga Viper from Catalinbread, does anyone have any experience with it? Any input would be very much appreciated. My maximum budget is 250€.
Thanks for helping :)!

I can't help with the question, sorry. I also have an AC30, and this post intrigued me. For me, I already get an assload of high end out of my AC30. I dial it in specifically to cut high end and beef up my low end for blues/funk/country. It still has enough of the high range sparkle but I've intentionally made it sound much fatter.
So, my question is. What setting are you playing in that made you look for this treble boost? I mean, are you gigging with this amp and you're looking to improve your live tone? Or is this a practice space situation? Also, are you planning on using this in lieu of a distortion pedal? Give me the lowdown, I'm curious.
well an ac30+ a treble booster is a pretty classic combo that I thought every ac30 owner was looking for :D. Mostly playing in my house, the occasional gig every now and then, hope to do them more frequently. Don't get me wrong I love the ac30 sound but sometimes when soloing particularly I'd just want a more clapton kind of sound you know? And do that without losing the tone of a vox which is what a treble booster should do. I have a distortion pedal but I think it hides the tone of the amp too much. I love the sparkly sound the vox has. Truly one of my favourite sounds in the guitar world. Particularly what made me want to get one and a delay is a few Pink Floyd solos to be honest. I know that I can never get the tone of Gilmour but I'd like to sound somewhat similar.
Your response is making me question everything I know about tone. Lol
So, yeah, go for it. I might just do the same but I'll buy something different.
Really quickly though, why do you think the treble boost will help with the Clapton sound? I don't really know of him ever using an AC30 in the first place (off the top of my head)
From listening to Clapton I've always loved the thickness of his tone. He somehow has such a thick tone without really losing the softness as well. It's hard to explain. I seriously doubt i'll ever get that tone, at least not from a vox and without his strat. I just know i'll get a bit more boost with it when soloing which will make it sound a bit more like rock. Listen to some Rory Gallagher.

this is him on an AC30 with the Dallas Rangemaster treble booster which the Naga Viper is trying to imitate.
All I can really add is that I've had a religious experience with Rory, just now. So, thanks for that. I've checked him out a couple times before but was too preoccupied to get into him. It's time!
