Don't self-censor yourself people...
Look, i get it. You make a post, people don't like it and your karma goes to shit...
But don't you dare fucking delete your post.
You may correct it if your mind changes about a certain issue, or you can state that the contents of the post you don't want on your history (which is understandable)
But stop tying your sense of self worth to how many upvotes you get.
Don't be a person that only commits to something if it gets other peoples approval
Have the balls to be contentious if that's what you really believe
Edit: Also stop with this "unpopular opinion - Don't upvote crap"
Someone called me out on this a while ago (about 8 years ago) I used to apologise during presentations for college.
But my tutor said one day "stop priming people to forgive you"
If you go "I know this is unpopular... but..." you are priming people to forgive you before you make your point.
Her idea was that you shouldn't manipulate people into making you feel better about yourself. It absolutely does work saying things like "this is my first time" or making other self deprecating statements, but again, have the balls to have an unpopular opinion (or AN opinion) without making yourself feel better about it first.
Rant over
