Aftermarket locker on a Dakota

I have a 2004 Dakota 2wd peg leg, never liked not having a LSD. I was wondering if I could put a Powertrax locker on it. I have the 9.25" pumpkin.

A friend dropped a Spartan Locker on his Jeep TJ that gave me the idea to put one on mine, although his reason was for Jeeping somewhere.

The purpose is for driving in the winter. I don't hot rod it around, it's a daily driver. I currently live in the town I work. Soon we may be moving about 30mins away. My job requires me to be on call 24hrs from November through April for snow removal (using the company's fleet). So, I maybe traveling on unplowed roads to get to work. Would this be a way to get better traction on snow covered roads. Budget wont allow another car payment at the time. When funds are available a 4x4 is my next purchase.
