NHRA Top Fuel, kids too young?

There's an NHRA even coming to town & I thought of taking the family, but I'm afraid my 2yr old girl & 4yr old son would be frightened more so than excited. It is a whole body experience & not just noise, after all. With proper ear protection of course. My wife may not enjoy the surprise either. I think it awesome!

I just don't want to lose their trust in my introcing them to new things. I thought of even hanging out in the parking lot, which is free & just listen to them.
