Slicer Help? (or correct terminology)

I'm wondering if it's possible to slice a model of a toroid so that, instead of alternating layers of direction X and direction Y filaments on the top and bottom layers or rings the printer would actually bridge from the inside to the nearest outside point like winding a coil?
