How much of the PC master race uses a controller?

So I was considering buying a wireless adapter so i could use my xbox controller for games where camera control is more important (like cinematic shots in spectator).

Someone told me that compared to a mouse, a controller has much smoother movement and is overall less jittery than mouse movement.

Do you guys/girls agree with that statement?
