The Big Plan...

So recently I started reading some stuff about Rational Recovery as I'm trying to get inspiration from everywhere. They suggest just making a big plan, that you are never going to drink or use again. I know in AA they tend to follow the one day at a time approach. I wonder if that is more likely to lead to relapse. In some ways it seems easier to just make up your mind that you are going to be sober forever. Also you could trick your "beast" (addictive voice) by saying you'll drink in 200 years, I'm not sure my beast is that stupid. lol

thoughts?
