Spirituality is Hurting my Relationship.

So basically, my SO's mom had weird feelings about me from the start and she didn't even meet me and this influenced my SO to the point that when she migrated here, she made my SO break up with me. What my SO describes is that I may have a demon inside of me and that's why she hates me. My SO and I are great together and we really never have problems. I honestly try not to harm people and just generally not be an asshole. But my SO says she's scared of my apartment and talk in my sleep. This is all really confusing so I just want perspective in Hinduism and explain why this is happening. I don't even know what I'm doing wrong. All I know is that SO's mom hates and in turn influences my SO. I'm also filipino and atheist, but this thing is hurting my relationship with my SO so I honestly don't know what to believe anymore.
