Do I really not need to self-promote?
Hey guys, long time lurker on my other account. I finally wrote and published a work of erotica (10k words, the first in a series), and from everything I've seen on this subreddit, it looks like the next step is to just churn out the next one. I'm already in the process of doing that, but I just had a few questions.
1: Is it really best to just keep writing and churning them out? How do they get noticed on amazon (and other sites)? Is there some kind of algorithm where the more books you publish the more they come up?
2: How kinky/out there can you really get, and does some of the more far out stuff actually sell? I've read the rules of what is not allowed/will get you banned on amazon, but for stuff that is more out there but still within those lines (For example: Futanari, stuff with demons, or stuff with magic, like a situation where anytime someone masturbates, the person they are masturbating to feels it) will that actually do well if people find it.
- Last question: Concerning Pseudo-incest and some of the other words that can get your books banned/adult-shelved--that list of words is stuff you just shouldn't use in the title and blurb, right? Like it's okay inside the story?
Well that's it, wish me luck!
EDIT: Thank you guys for the advice!
