2003 Nissan Maxima -- Can't get my driver side window up
Hi all,
TLDR: Driver window is stuck in the door and even after pulling off my paneling and really pulling on the glass it won't budge.
Full: I was going through the drive through the other day and started putting my window down when I heard a slow churning / motor dying sound aftrr which my window got stuck halfway down. Could not move it back up or down (no noise from the window).
Assumed it was the motor so I went ahead and ordered the part with the intention of replacing the motor myself via instructions on YouTube (I try to be a DIYer as it saves a lot of money).
Cut to two days later as I'm sitting in traffic and I decide to try the window again. No up but it does go down a quarter. I try it again and then it goes all the way down.
Yesterday I ripped off my door paneling per the instructions on YouTube however when I went to pull my window up it doesn't give and is stuck in the door. There's also a distinct "thunk" which makes it sound like the motor is locked up. This is preventing me from accessing the bolts to release the window / free up the motor.
I'm calling around now to find estimates but figure I'd check in here as well.
Cheers
Edit: In case anyone stumbles upon this later, I bought a window motor / regulator combo on Amazon for $60 and had it installed (because I couldn't get to the bolts) for $85. Works like a charm.
