/r/Thrashmetal's Album of the Week: Artillery - Terror Squad (30th Anniversary)

In an attempt to foster discussion and to spread amazing thrash albums, we're doing an album of the week series. They'll mostly (if not always) be classic '80s and early '90s albums on a major anniversary. Enjoy.

Band: Artillery, from Taastrup, Denmark.

Album: Terror Squad, released on April 24th, 1987.

Despite being better known for their more technical and melodic album "By Inheritance," Artillery did in fact exist before 1990 and Terror Squad features some of the same rhythmic stylings and less-intricate versions of the same leads. Flemming Rönsdorf's vocals are more restrained but still soar over the fast Danish guitarwork. Intense, occasionally technical, fast, and with interspersed melody, it sounds distinctly like an Artillery album, satisfying an itch that only this band can.

Provoke me once more then what can I do

I might just be poiting my gun right at you

If I succeed your terror sets in

Then only the Gods will know who's to win
