Company/Recruiter Internship Warning Thread
Hi everyone,
I believe that there should be a thread or other communal resource to share which employers have broken their internship or graduate hiring agreements.
This thread is specifically aimed at the situation where someone has received an offer, accepted, and then had their offer rescinded very close to the start date. I am willing to maintain the list here and if someone does not want to come directly forward and post it to Reddit, I can post information on your behalf. I can also take into account any "Please do not post it until X" or other requests.
I do not know how the hiring and offering process for positions later in your career work so I will not attempt to address them without first having someone to consult on that subject.
I will now offer my story. In March I had accepted a summer internship offer from Tallan. As of the last 7 days I have had them inform me they are reneging on their offer under the statement that they no longer have the financial capability to take on interns.
Thanks for reading.
Another one from an anonymous user. They had interned at Nordstrom for a summer and was given an offer letter for a full time position. This offer was accepted. They were then told they had to be interviewed again for a specific team and then after a month of that process was told that another candidate was found. The company informed the user that the offer letter was meaningless.
