Looking for new phone that ISN'T an expensive flagship.

In two months, my S6 edge will finally be paid off since I had it on a monthly payment plan with verizon so i'll be soon in the market for an upgrade.

I no longer want one of the flagships (Galaxy, iPhone.. etc.) which are tied down to a provider - i'm looking for something unlocked that I can buy outright instead of those monthly plans which hike up the total cost of the phone bill per month. I'm looking for a phone that's similar to a OnePlus. Pretty awesome specs, even more awesome price point. 400 bucks and under is ideal. High camera MP is pretty important to me since I love using smartphones for pictures.

I'd get a OnePlus 3, but the phone NEEDS to be compatible with Verizon 4gLTE. I've got a mountain house in bumblefuck nowhere, and the only provider that works up there is Verizon.

Suggestions? Thanks in advance!!
