New Beginnings - solo top surgery?

I'm just starting to plan for top surgery and I want to get a handle on all the options. My first questions are whether it is really feasible to travel solo for this kind of surgery? I mean I won't be able to life any luggage or anything, right? I don't have a romantic partner, and traveling with my mother would probably be too stressful. I have a few very good friends I could ask, but it's a big favor to ask of someone. I mean, taking a week off is one thing, but like what if I need someone to help me bathe or wipe my butt or something? or am I being unrealistic about what kind of help I might need?

I'm considering Dr. Garramone, who seems to insist on having someone stay with you continuously for the 24 hours following surgery. I'm looking at New Beginnings as a place to stay rather than a hotel, especially if I'm going solo. Has anyone stayed there recently? Will I still need a home health aide if I stay there?

(I'm also considering local surgeons, which might be much more feasible but not as experienced. Although at my age, as long as the surgery isn't hugely botched, it's probably all about the same.)

Any tips on getting through this mostly by yourself are welcome. Thanks guys!
