Will Linux desktop adoption increase if it is backed by a powerful player such as Google?
Lets admit it. Though distros like Ubuntu, Fedora and openSUSE are trying hard, the year of the linux desktop is like the mirage water - ever in sight but we never quite reach there.
OTOH, within quite a short period of time, this mobile world linux distro called android just sped past everyone like a zooming car. And it was so successful because of only one reason - powerful backing by Google.
If Google were to support or back any desktop distro tomorrow, do you think it will also see a similar mainstream success?
