[help] Fell in love, but is it bad timing?

Help!

My husband and I have been wanting to adopt a dog for a while, but haven't committed because we've been waiting for the perfect match.

Well, yesterday on Petfinder we found an adorable 1 year old pupper of the exact breed(s) I was looking for, who's also cat friendly, dog friendly, kid friendly, housebroken, good hiking buddy, etc. Long story short, we fell in love!

We're hoping to meet the little guy soon. But the problem is, we're traveling the next two weekends. Both weekends involve about 4-6 hours of driving each way. Potentially pets are allowed in both places, definitely in the first, and if not the second, we have a trusted professional pet sitter who we've used with our cats and has dog experience.

During the week, my husband is there all day to train and socialize. And after these two weekends we don't have any travel planned for months.

Would it be too stressful for the dog to endure so much traveling with two unfamiliar people? How much time do dogs need to settle in?
