4K USB-C Monitor

I'm in the market for a 4K USB-C monitor to pair with my Spectre, but know HP is finicky about letting the laptop charge off of non-HP USB-C connections.

Does anyone know if you can charge the Spectre off of nonHP USB-C monitors? I was thinking about the LG Ultrafine 4K monitor.
