Shipping a lifted truck

Sorry if this has been answered, but searching didn't yield much. I am moving from CO to CA and want to ship my project truck (1985 FJ60) out to my new home. It runs, but int really the type of truck you wanna drive more that 200 miles at once. I contacted a few shippers and they all want ~1400 to get my truck to me. For only 1200 miles that seems sort of steep. Also, I am nervous a driver will show up with a car carrier and between the 5 inch lift, 35" tires, and full safari rack the truck wont fit. Any other ideas? I am not opposed to renting a truck and trailer but most rental places dont rent pickups bigger than half ton.
