HoMM3, any ideas what to do when you're simply bored with it?

Greetings!

The title is rather self-explanatory but I'd just like to add a thing or two.

After a while, the campaign got boring because it's kind of monotonous. After that Sandro storyline, it's a disaster, seriously, killed the fun! Even when I skirmish it, I literally quit after a few turns because that artifact set for Necromancers is haunting me. I have all the expansions nevertheless BUT I feel like I'm going to make a grave mistake if I skip SoD.. Advise me guys!
