Family Life

I guess this is going to be a long one. I'd like to try and give as much info as I can. I feel pretty lost at the moment.

I'm in my 30s and so is my husband. We've been married for 8 years. After the birth of our daughter, my husband changed. Baby was planned by the way. He resented the new life, the new responsibility and his freedom. So much so that he had an emotional affair.. we separated. We still loved each other and tried to make it work. His explanation is that he's not happy. Probably will never be. He's seeing a specialist since the separation. He's very bonded with our daughter now, but incapable of loving the life. He still needs his freedom, his old life. He told me that he still struggles every single day. His main struggles are the fact that we now have serious financial issues, our organized home is never organized, our couple life is on the back burner, his freedom. The way he speaks of the fact of having a child is heartbreaking. He uses words like it destroyed my life. I think it's imprimant to note that he does love our daughter and cares for her. He said he would die for her, but it doesn't help the fact that his life as it was is gone. And he can't be happy.

He absolutely doesn't want another child. It's completely off the table for him. When we were dating we were in complete agreement that we would have 2-3. This was never a secret. So of course, I'm at loss.

He doesn't know if gaining back his freedom will help. He doesn't know if staying with us will ever make him happy.

I'm at complete loss. What would you do?
