How do I record gameplay and voice the easiest way?

Heyo, so my girlfriend and I thought about creating some videos recently because she somehow really got into watching me play and commenting on all sorts of things. Also she is a HUGE fan of all kinds of youtubers so we thought: Why the hell not record all this and share it? I tried to convince her to just stream this as it became really easy with the BEAM integration. Just tap a button and you are live, but as I mentioned before she is a YouTube fan to the bone.

So I have read through some tips on how to do this and recording a video and voice seems to be quite the hassle. Some state that I would need to split the signal through and HDMI Split and send one to my pc or a special recording box. That sounds logical but I wondered if there is no other way to do this more simple. I thought about opening up a stream, watch it on a PC and just record it all. I would prefer to not use a PC the same time however.
