A guys disrespectful comment made me want to flip my shit. I am not going to repeat the comment because I don't want to cause pain to those who have chosen to blast loved ones ashes into space but I lost his comment while signing up and just have to get this off my chest. This was my reply " That's a very rude (though THEORETICALLY true) thing say. Especially part about his sons wish being "grranted". You are coming off as ignorant and an ass who is in capable of compassion. Death ceramonies are rituals to help the living..... the ones who have lost. Taking it so literal is idiotic. In Ancient Egypt they were buried with their belongings to place on the scale and be judged by Anubis. Their possessions didn't physically go as they still lay in the ancient tombs undisterbed....... (or meuseums now). According to the beliefs of some ancients, a kind man that gave all he had to help others soul would be devoured by Ammit and he would continue to live on experiencing endless restless in the afterlife for having nothing to give the gods they believed in while, a greedy thief and murder with jewels and gold place on the scale and be judged by Anubis would go on to live in harmony. Osiris was believed to replace Anubis and instead he weighed the heart, Ammit is still had her spot next to the scale and devoured the wicked and poisonous hearts. The point is burial is ritual not always litteral or eternal, the soul is. If someone wants to be blasted into earth's orbit a twinkle of them WILL remain as a memory of the lost in the nights sky. Just like a head stone and flowers do. That twinkle in the sky serves the same purpose. To publicly and disgracefully make a jab right into the heart of the grieving is a horrible thing to do. Think about how your comment could impact and influence the mind of this young boy you speak of's mourning.... now, when he looks to the stars and see a twinkle your comment will ocupy a small space in his mind (even if its subconsciously) What a thoughtless "opinion" to post especially in the way you did, its shameful on your part sir. If that is your opinion keep it within your circle, SOME opinions simply serve no purpose to be public. I am all about keeping it real and sharing thoughts pinions and ideas. However, to put a comment such as yours that mocks the choice of death ceramoney chosen into the mind of the grieving serves no purpose. All it would do is cause pain. When you die hopefully an animal will take a nice big juicy fat fertilized shit on your grave and a perennial seed will be carried by the wind and settle into the shit for in your memory will be a reaccuring shit flower lying atop your remains.
