Traffic on saturday?

I'll have to drive from Hamburg to Munich either on Saturday in the morning or on Friday over night. I wouldn't really mind driving at night, however, seeing a little bit of the landscape would speak for driving during daytime on Saturday, but is Saturday generally a day where you have to expect a lot of traffic jams?
