29 [M4R] Palo Alto, buying ticket today, where should I stay, where to go, someone to hang out

Hey I'm Victor, im 29 and I work at a University in the Medical Engineering department. I'm going to Palo Alto for a conference for a week and there is only so much science I can do in great weather. I'm looking for someone local who can show me around and have lunch with and dinner some days. I like to do outdoor stuff (hiking and riding) and nerdy things lol, but overall I think im a funny guy.
