Global Consciousness Project Dot strongly increased network variance. Can anyone link these to specific events today?

Hello r/conspiracy, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at The Global Consciousness Project and see what was going on with the dot.

To my surprise, it looked like the dot has been hovering in the yellow, 5-10%, for the past few hours. As I type this the dot is rising again.

I can't seem to find an archive of sorts to see what the dot has looked like on previous days and don't have the best memory myself, so I don't know if this is normal-ish or not.

There is no doubt a lot going on today, be it innocent or not, it would be cool to see if the dot correlates with any of it.

Either way, I thought it may be interesting to share and see everyone's thoughts!
