2k Blacktop Pick Advice?

I'm about 800 games in with a record of right around 600 wins and 200 losses. I got Isiah Thomas on my second go around on board 10, it was honestly lucky. I'm on my 7th go of board 10 and I am really trying to get Amare and Kecin McHale. What's the best way to get them out of the deck and on to the board? Pick sides, pick middles, what seems to work best for people?
