Ex-Miner looking for advice

Long story short. I had 2 systems 3 years ago with 5x280x inside each of them. I remember I was in the Bitcoin forums all day long looking for the next altcoin to mine, at that time mining started declining and I barely returned the investment. I got scammed in a cloud mine site for 3.5 btc and it just destroyed my self confidence about this world, I decided to sell all my hardware. So tell me guys, should I re-enter this world of mining? Is there a stable future for at least returning the investment? Is this coin the future? The btc/USD is scary high! Thank you for your time
