For newbies - (1) Introduction

This guide means to be a bit waggish but seriously accurate. So if you don't want to be triggered, I recommend you to press "back".

  • Introduction - Difficulty

There are three difficulty in this game. Radiant, Darkest, and Stygian. Radiant difficulty settings include Fast Grinding™ , More flexible stagecoach management. In sum, it is for child like 7-8 years old who can't stand old-style grinding and eventually subscribe "auto-hunting" button in their idiot i-Phone games. Stygian is much harder mode which was originally New Game + mode which means "You have to press New game button more frequent". What you have to select is "Darkest" setting. It is perfectly reasonable since it matches the name of game, duh.

  • Quirks

Now I won't tell what the heroes are. They are quite obvious: people who fight monsters. However the most confusing thing in this game is Quirk so I will briefly tell you what it does. It is some kind of property which decides your heroes to be gods or a pile of shit. There are two kinds of quirks: positive and negative. Negative ones are more critical and powerful. This means that if you want to hire someone, be sure to look at the right column in his/her status window.

For newbies, let me tell you which quirks are the best and which are the worst. Worst quirks are curios, compulsive, and some idiotic words which have "mania" in them. In real world, curiosity is the mother of scientific discovery. In this game, on the other hand, is the mother of fucking nightmare and despair. If your heroes are curious, then you are done since they will touch fucking everything including graves and iron-maidens. Also quirks messing with fucking percent marks are dangerous, so be sure to avoid them.

Best quirks are Steady, Hard Skinned, Photomania (This "mania" is the only good "mania" in this game), Eldritch Hater, Warrior of Light, and Slugger/Unerring) Those quirks are literally worth Rare/Very Rare Trinkets.

  • Tutorial

There are two heroes given to you. One is Reynauld the Crusader. Although he has Warrior of Light Quirk (which is one of the best quirks in the game),He is very irritating since he is determined to have Kleptomaniac and steals fucking every gold piles and boxes. He is clearly not, but definitely is catholic, since they always steal something from innocent and say "Thou shalt not steal".

Dismas the highwayman(Before they buffed this occupation, it sucked so hard and nobody used it. I am telling truth. Search google with highwayman and you can find a large pile of threads and comments blaming how useless he is), on the other hand, is much reliable since he can attack back-line with his pistol.

There are only two rooms in tutorial stage. If you click the other room in the map, you can move your heroes. There is one unlucky Brigand Cutthroat between those rooms. You can easily beat him unless you use only grapeshot / tracking shot and Bulwark of Faith. Just use icons with swords and daggers. If you move to the other room there are Brigand Bloodletter and Brigand Fusilier. Try to kill one before another. Use your skills to only one target at once. If you beat them, you can clear the stage. There is a box which clearly states "don't open me or you will be fucked up". So please don't open it unless you are so lucky and bandits drop additional master key for you. In that case, you can open the box with key and get additional heirlooms.
