Super new to indie game dev-ing

So my story is that I'm a drop out from a mechanical engineering major after 4.5 years. Don't have the money or the drive to finish going right now, but from all the small bits of 3D modeling and programing from the courses as well as a whole lot of creativity, writing skill, a lifetime of playing video games and the drive to create, I'm trying to teach myself how to make games.

Right now, I'm working on just jumping in and doing it on my own. I'm teaching myself blender for 3D modeling and I'm working on programming in Unity since I'm poor. I think I'm making great strides for someone who only started 3 months ago, and it all just makes a lot of sense to me.

This feels like what I'm meant to do, but I don't know anyone else who's chasing this kind of dream. I'm not in a big city, and I don't know where to meet other people who share this passion. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I just need some friends to talk to about this stuff and to help support me as I get settled into this, so that's why I came here. If anyone wants to be a pal, I'd love to hear from you.
