'Sharing' a domain between multiple servers

Hi, I'm looking to 'share' a domain between multiple DigitalOcean droplets. This is because I want to host many Node.js projects on one domain, but they cannot share a single server. For example, I want http://domain.domain/ to be hosted from one server, and http://domain.domain/project to be hosted from another.

Is this possible and how can I achieve it? Thanks.
