I'm (20 m.) committing today, and I'm hoping r/leaves can be a support system.

The first time I smoked kush I was 14 in the 8th grade. Then, throughout high school I smoked off and on. When I moved to university last year is when I developed a full-blown addiction. I smoked daily for most of my freshman year and since summer I've been smoking a large amount daily.

Depression has been an ongoing problem for me, and I've sought professional help for it. I guess I've been self-medicating. However, in the process I've developed crippling anxiety as well.

I've been sneaking around too long. I've pushed enough worthwhile relationships away. I've put my school and future on the back burner for long enough.

I’m 20 now and I want to stop smoking weed for good. How did you guys get through the first week? I started by throwing all my smoking stuff out last night. What can I expect emotionally wise? I’ve been sorta numb for the past year, so I’m expecting emotions to flood in. What kind of things can I do to fill my time, especially at night? How do I meet non-smoker friends, and should I try to reconnect with my old ones? Maybe you can hear my anxieties haha. This is my first post, and I’m hoping r/leaves can be a support system for me, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
