I might get an offer for that job but I don't know if I should take it if I do.

I got my engineering degree in october 2016.

I’ve been looking for a job since then, with some ups & down.

I just got out of a job interview for a consulting company. The boss went with me to the client’s factory. To put it in a nutshell, the consulting company would hire me and send me to this client’s factory for a mission.

The interview went very well according to the boss of the consulting firm, and he says I have a 85% chance of being hired. If I get hired, I will start next week.

Now, I’m going to be very honest. It’s an engineering job in a factory, and I will have just one month to do the first part of a huge project. If I’m successful at doing the first part I will do the second part for a few more months, and so on until the project is finished.

Now this job would be great on my resume. It’s a great project which will enable me to do many things and get a lot of new skills. It’s also with a very, very big company, which is nice. But I’m scared. I never did the job I will be doing, and I don’t even understand what I will really have to do.

Also, it’s in a factory. I’m a soft kind of guy, a dreamer, a thinker. Those people are tough, and the job is hard, and you are supposed to get it right the first time someone explains something to you. It’s a hard job with tough people and no excuses. I'm not tough. I'm your typical effeminate milenial with no muscles and a little bit of fat. I play video games, I do to the movies. Those guys in the factory likes to do sports and drink beer while I like to play music and read philosophy...lol....I'm a big teenager, that's all I am...I'm soft.

And I don’t like factories, I would rather be in a nice office with people who wears suits and backstab each other in the back .I would like that.

I think everyone begins somewhere and it’s perfectly normal not to know how to do what you are supposed to do when you are fresh out of college.

Still, it’s a challenge, I’m supposed to work very hard.

And it scares me. But I tell myself that as a young graduate I virtually know nothing, and it’s normal that I don’t know what to do, and that I will have to manage somehow, that everyone goes through this.

Basically the job would be great for my resume, I don’t know if I will like it or not (because I don’t really know what it is really about…and it's a factory), and I’m just scared because I’m afraid I will fuck it up. And maybe I shouldn’t take the job because I don’t want to fail it? I don’t really know if I have what it takes.

On the other hand, I’ve been unemployed for 8 months and I have to get a job.

Will the first job be hard anyway? Is it normal that I don’t know how to do what I’m asked to do?

I mean, if this is normal, then it means it’s fine. It means every young graduate is in this situation and then surely I will manage it, just like every other young graduate does.

Also, if it’s normal to be in this situation, then it means this situation will happen whatever my first job is. If so, then I conclude I should take this offer, which will be great for my resume, because whatever my first job is I won’t know how to do what I will have to do.

Lastly, what I want to say is that on a personal, I have a very hard time managing stress and knowing how to live, basically. I always used bad ways of dealing with stress and sadness and all that stuff, which means that I’m also afraid that I won’t be able to work as much as needed without exploding because I don't know how to manage stress, feelings etc.

Tl;dr: I may soon have a great job offer, but I don’t know if I have what it takes to do the job and if I could fit in and adapt to the factory environment. Is it normal for a young graduate? What should I do?

Thanks for reading my incoherent rant and sorry if I didn't make sense, english is not my first language....
