PRK 4 Months Post-Op : Double vision in left eye.

Hello

I got the procedure done last december. I had a myopic astigmatism prescription, -2d + -2d in the left eye and -3d + -1.75d in the right one. I am 18 and my vision has been stable for 2 years, so I was considered a good candidate (my surgeon is renowned and successful, I doubt he tried to make a quick buck off me haha).

I would say that my right eye managed to hit (or get really close to) 20/20 7 days after surgery with my left being close to 20/20. For about 2 days, from the 7th to 9th day post op, my vision was pretty good, the only effects being those of starbursts and floaters. Since the 10th day, my left eye developed double vision. If I am outside on a sunny day I'll barely notice the effect, sometimes my left eye vision will be even better than the right one, but most of the time it is very noticeable. I've had 3 check ups : contact removal one, the 1 month post op one and the 3 month post op one. The doctor said that I am healing just fine and that my vision will continue improve. I told him about the double vision, he looked at my corneas, checked my refraction and gave me some eye drops, concluding that the effect should disappear on its own.My next appointment is in September.

In the last few weeks I've noticed some fluctuations, my right eye sometimes is a bit blurry(nothing major, barely noticeable and it tends to go away after I apply the eye drops) and my left eye sometimes becomes pretty clear, even though the double vision never goes away.

Last time I scored 20/20 with my right eye and 20/32-20/40 with my left one(logMAR 0 and logMAR 0.25).

I know that the recovery can last up to 6-8 months and since I am young my vision could still be developing (my doctor said he doubts it).

Do you think that maybe I am just a slow healer ? Have you gone through a similar recovery experience ? I've read a lot of posts that said that a lengthy PRK recovery is normal, but I am still a bit anxious haha.

Thanks for reading this post, I appreciate it :D.
