I can't tell if I've been playing this game for 10 minutes or over an hour.
I love horror games, and I love stealth, which is why the first Outlast stood out for me. It was like Amnesia but instead of puzzles, there was just more tension. That's the main draw of this series (in my opinion), the feeling of absolute helplessness. At least in Alien you eventually get a flamethrower, this genuinely feels like you're running/crawling for your fucking life. I know there are some negative reviews on the sub right now, but honestly all of their complaints seem to be that the game should be fundamentally different than what it is. If you want horror/combat, play RE7 or Dead Space 2 (which still holds up to this day, highly recommend it but stay away from 3). If you want horror/stealth/combat, play Alien Isolation. But if you want the kind of patented "holy fuck I'm going to die here itsjustavideogameitcanthurtmeOHGODWHYAMIDOINGTHISTOMYSELF" kind of horror, this is the game for you. Just wanted to say that, hopefully the devs see this at some point so that they know not everyone hated the thing they spent 3 years on.
