Can I research three things simultaneously?

Week-old newbie here - just learned about training. Is it possible to research three different traits on three different items (one with clothier, one with blacksmith, one with woodworker), at the same time? I couldn't find a definitive answer to this anywhere and I'm a few hours into training my first trait so I don't want to inadvertently cancel it.
