Lacing boots for wide feet?

Hey folks, I've got a pair of Riedell R3s for fresh meat and my middle toe starts to go a bit numb after a couple hours. It's not painful I just can't imagine that's too good for my feet, and I've been relacing them to find a perfect combo which is definitely working.

I'm not in the spot to get a new pair yet, how can I lace them to accommodate my finger toes?
