Are there any transgender kids that grew up on hormone replacement therapy that can tell their story?

I have a friend that has come out as transgender for years now and i still tear up thinking about her situation. I'm not sure if the tears are because I wish she wasn't trans (as she probably feels too) or because i'm sad that she has had to go through gender dysphoria, a mental disorder. Personally I believe a transgender person suffers from depression along with genuine thoughts and feelings (abt them identifying with the social definition of what being of the opposite gender means) which derives from whatever experiences they go through growing up. Stats show that the suicide rate in the transgender community is the same with trans people before and after transition.
