Questions regarding CI and security clearances

So, I'm an active duty marine and back in may of 2015 I got a marijuana possession charge, jumped through a flaming shit storm went to boot camp and earned the title, got shafted with motor T and all that Moto shit. I originally was "promised" a intel contract (I know I wasn't entitied to shit, I'm just saying) I had it in my mind that I wanted to be intel. Now here I sit everyday in the motor pool wondering what could have been. When I got my charge I opted to work with police to avoid probation and do some kinda sketchy stuff because I still wanted to be a marine at the time and I knew I was kinda fucked with that charge so I thought it would look really good if I did that instead of going the regular probation route. And it did to a certain extent. Long story short I want to go counter intelligence and I feel like I could attain that considering I did some fairly favorable things since the charge, like working with police and joining the marine corps. I want to know if I still have a chance if I want to LAT move, what other sorts of prerequisites would I have to meet to get a top security clearance and if I'm even eligible? If anyone has any knowledge they could share to give me peace of mind I would greatly appreciate it, I'm a good marine and an upstanding guy, just was at the wrong place at the wrong time and I feel like I've made a good rebound from my past.
