Editing graphics card that work in Mid 2012 Mac pro

The Graphics card currently in my workstation is a Quadro 4000 2gb and it's starting to die and becoming more and more outdated. Im not very knowledgeable on the compatibility for graphics cards in mac pros.

My assumption would be that I could get a newer quadro card and be fine but Assumptions can hurt.

Would anyone have a recommendation? I mostly edit 1080 with 4k sprinkled in once in a while. Running Premiere, Resolve, AE and Final cut x.
