Moral/Logical disagree with Armin and why.
I'm currently doing some work on the US's use of torture in the early 2000's in Iraq and an argument I found against it was that the logic behind denying human rights and suspending heabus corpus to protect huamn right's and sustain heabus corpos was/is inherently flawed
Armin said a few things that I have pondered for a long time and think could be applied here as a counter argument. One being "You can't change anything unless you can discard part of yourself too. To surpass monsters, you must be willing to abandon your humanity" and the other being "A person who cannot give up anything, can change nothing.”
(Without trying to politicize this subreddit in anyway trying to keep this as logical as possible)
This logic would seemingly condone illegal acts/immoral decision to order to keep peace. Similar to vigilante justice. Obviously the situations are far from 1:1 but I think there is some similarities here and I'm curious to what you all think.
Ultimately in reality I feel like this was flawed logic bc that power seems only immoral but in the case of AOT simply transforming into a titan isn't inherently immortal but how you use that power to control people (like the group lead by the beast titan) or liberate them (Like Erin).
Lastly let me say that this is a little bit random and just a personal thought I had but I'd like to see some people weigh in/disagree or critique my logic if they feel like it.
