Keyboard design dimensions needed

I'm just starting down the fully custom keyboard design path but I'm coming up with some conflicting information regarding the sockets and spacing of them. Does anybody have a dimensioned picture or drawing of a socket that would accommodate Cherry style switches? Or better yet a universal socket (for the plate into which the switch sits, not the PCB)? Is there a standard distance to space them out? Thanks!
