An alternate view on Coni.
As a newfreind who is rapidly learning the rules and culture of the server, but had stuck to Aquila and mta so far, I was surprised to see a raging coni coming after me with a sword in her hand after i jumped a two block high wall on a horse and stumbled onto her vault
This went poorly for me and i ended up pearled for the first time. It was awful. I begged coni for mercy. She offered to commute my 3 day pearl sentence in exchange for some slave labor with her in veritas.
By now, I had learned her reputation from the subreddit as an evil ruthless monster. I feared my pearl would never be freed, even after my indentured servitude.
While performing my slave labor, I ended up having a very enlightening conversation with coni. She explained her harshness about enforcing her rules, shared her past experiences on civcraft and devoted with me, and was generally a pleasant person to converse with. I almost forgot how I had been forced into labor for a foreign nation.
Anyway, after a couple hours of digging dirt and breaking cobblestone, she freed me, returned all the items i had on me when she brutally murdered me and my horse, and even gave me two horse eggs to replace the one i had lost.
In the end, I walked away feeling like I had perhaps made a new friend, and had even gotten paid for my labor. I would even go so far as to call my pearling and servitude an overall pleasant experience. I wouldn't go back near those borders again, mind you, given what happened the first time.
In the end, I learned that her harshness, was perhaps not harshness, but integrity instead.
jk. pearl that bitch.
