Why isn't there equal outrage towards the treatment of gays in Muslim majority countries, as there is towards the current Chechnya scandal?

I'm not personally saying I'm 100% convinced by the reports of 'gay concentration camps' in Chechnya, but if they are true then why are they getting more outward protests and outrage than the daily treatment of LBGTQ community in Muslim majority countries?

** EDIT ** : to clarify, take it that most people aren't aware of chechnya's religious choices. Most of my friends definitely aren't. In this case why is persecution of LGBT in one area (Chechnya) so much more abhorrent than persecution of LGBT in another (Middle East, Asia)?

Where are the protests and petitions about the areas mentioned second?
