I Can't Use All My Things

At any given time I'm not using most of my things. If I were to make a list of all the things that I own that I am NOT using, it dwarfs the number of things that I am using 100-1000 times over.

My shower/bath probably spends 23 hours a day vacant. My car typically spends 23+ hours a day parked. My lawn mower gets used maybe once every 3 weeks. I own a TV that I haven't turned on in several months.

What movements exist in terms of sharing of material wealth? I've heard of things like community toolsheds and community gardens. Are there community livingrooms? Community kitchens? Community showers? Community cars?

Our insistence on having personal ownership of things is a massive driver for capitalism. Everyone could have better-working, better-quality things if we pooled our resources to buy and maintain things collectively, rather than purchasing individually and then allowing things to sit around unused.
