Was just diagnosed with mild sleep apnea, have a few questions.

I had my sleep study on the 15th, and it was the best night of sleep I'd had in a long time.

When I'm at home, I go to bed 9 hours before I need to wake up, which is an issue, because it usually takes anywhere from 2 to 4 hours for me to fall asleep. My girlfriend tells me to go to bed even earlier but then that's even more time I'll be laying in bed, at this point I'm just wasting time when I could be productive.

Anyways, I also don't like the idea of going to bed when I'm not tired.

Moving along, lack of sleep causes me to have optical migraines, which interfere with work, so I've been taking short term disability because I get maybe an hour or two of sleep per night. But I end up sleeping during the day because of it.

But maybe it's easier to sleep if my girlfriend isn't in bed. I don't mean I don't like her there, I do. I just seem to sleep better when I'm alone in bed. she hits me in her sleep, pushes me off the bed while she's sleeping, and makes a lot of noise. Don't worry, she's getting checked out.

Moving back to my sleep study, I don't remember a thing from 10pm to 5am. I got there, played some Zelda, beat 2 dungeons between 8 and 10(arrival to bedtime), fell asleep almost instantly) and woke up at 5.

Now, I took 1 Ambien before bed, which I'm sure is the culprit. I woke up and was a bit groggy for the rest of the day but my god, 7 hours of continuous sleep(at least it felt that way to me).

I go in monday to get the machine for $510. But wouldn't Ambien be better? I could take half or a quarter of a pill each night and sleep better. Would I really need this machine? I see rule 5, I'm not trying to get anyone to break it.

If I do really need it, is it noisy? Would I have to sleep in another room so I don't wake my girlfriend up? What all can I expect with this thing?
