Newbie wants to start big

I have been reading about matched betting for quite a while and I want to give it a try but in the mean time I want to start big ( more than 4000£ available). The reason I don't want to start small is that it's not worth the time you spend on and also you waste the opportunity to maximize your profit on the sign up offers. Does starting big also increase your chances of being gubbed?
