Have you ever personally contributed to the solving of an open, unresolved case? Have you ever actively contributed to a case that remains unsolved?

If you are able to talk about your contribution(s) only. I've studied true crime since I was a kid and the idea of regular folks researching/looking in to cases and producing a lead for Law Enforcement to look in to is fascinating.

If you've helped in solving a case in ANY way.. how did you feel once it was solved? I've heard many say they were proud and happy the family (if there was a victim) had closure. I've also heard a handful say that they had invested so much time and effort in to researching/investigating a case that they are both happy and a little sad once it becomes resolved.
